Hurghada is the perfect tourist center for diving and sun bathing, known for its spectacular 32 off shore islets, the corals of which can easily be admired by non-divers and non-snorkelers from the glass bottom of the boats.
Being just a small fishing village in the past with few hundreds of inhabitants, it recently developed into a blooming city 35 km long with over 50.000 people, 3 main walking and shopping areas.
Things to do
First one, which is the closest to the hotel, is Down Town area, locally known as El Dahar. Home to the original fishing village, where you will be able to experience how some Egyptians live and shop. Second one, located in the ‘middle’ of the city is called Sekalla. It has a lot to offer; this is where Hurghada started to develop so in between the hotels you will find an abundance of bazaars, restaurants, coffee shops and nightlife spots.
And the last and the newest walking area, which is priming itself for further development. The area extends along the main road in front of the hotels, as far as the instantly recognizable KFC, PIZZA HUT and second McDonald’s. This new walking street is filled with the hotels, shops and cafes. To walk the length of this takes approximately 45 minutes.
Besides experiencing the city life, there are also a number of excursions and activities available: 2 Aqua parks, various safari trips, submarine trip, fishing and snorkeling trips to several coral islands, 1001 Night shows, Singing fountains and of course scuba diving!
